1. Operator and scope
Rikuto Yasuda (the “Operator,” “we,” or “us”) provides MicroField, a location-based game about fictional digital organisms (the “Service”). These terms cover guest play, demo mode and shared gameplay.
Review these terms and use the in-app acceptance control before playing. Our Privacy Policy explains data practices. Accepting these terms does not itself authorize location access, motion integration, shared gameplay or advertising tracking; separate choices apply.
2. Eligibility
The Service is for people aged 13 or older. Children under 13 may not use it. If you are a minor under the law where you live, your parent or legal guardian must review these terms and the Privacy Policy and consent to your use. Do not misrepresent your age.
You must also comply with store age ratings, applicable laws and parental device restrictions. A store age rating does not replace parental consent.
3. Real-world safety
Stop in a safe place before interacting with the screen. Do not play while driving or cycling, trespass, enter restricted or dangerous locations, or disrupt a facility. Follow traffic laws, signs and instructions from property owners and staff.
Map points and care or supply spots are game roles, not proof of access permission, opening hours, safe routes or a partnership with the venue. You never need to enter a venue, buy a real-world product or seek medical care to play. Stop playing if conditions are unsafe.
4. Fictional content and external information
Organisms, infection, immunity, medicine, care, hospitals, statistics and forecasts are fictional game mechanics. They do not describe real pathogens, outbreaks, health conditions or medical evidence, and do not diagnose, treat or prevent disease. Do not use them for medical decisions.
Maps, positioning, step and distance estimates, connectivity and background operation depend on devices, operating systems, third-party services and local conditions. Continuous availability, complete accuracy and particular game outcomes are not guaranteed. This description does not override the liability provisions below or applicable law.
5. Saves and game resources
Guest progress is saved on your device. The initial release does not offer Apple linking, cloud saves or restoration on another device. Progress may be unrecoverable after device failure, app removal or loss of unsaved changes.
When recovering from a backup stored on the same device, review the records and replacement effects shown in the app. Do not sell, rent or give shared-play credentials to another person.
DNA, credits, materials, organisms and titles are records usable only within the Service, not currency, financial products or a right to redeem cash. We may correct records obtained through abuse on reasonable grounds.
6. Public names, conduct and intellectual property
Researcher and organism names are shown to players with whom you share. Do not include real names, contact details, another person’s private information, harassment, discrimination, threats, sexual content, impersonation or material that infringes rights. Follow the in-app name restrictions, including restrictions on real pathogen names.
Do not spoof location, automate resource abuse, access systems without authorization, overload services, bypass authentication, collect data improperly, identify or stalk players, force real-world contact, or trade accounts commercially. These restrictions do not remove rights to research or analysis that applicable law protects.
The software, artwork and other Service materials belong to the Operator or their respective owners. You retain any rights in names you create. You grant a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to use those names only as needed to operate, display, share, save and moderate the Service, not to use your name in unrelated advertising.
7. Reporting, restrictions and appeals
Report or block an inappropriate organism through its in-app menu. After reviewing reports, we may hide names, suspend sharing, correct records or restrict use when reasonably necessary and proportionate to the violation, repeated conduct or safety risk. Urgent protective action may precede an explanation, which we will provide where practicable.
Contact us to challenge an incorrect restriction or report infringement. Restrictions do not remove applicable privacy rights or the ability to request deletion of shared profiles or game records after appropriate identity verification.
8. Charges and advertising
The current version does not implement in-app purchases. You are responsible for connectivity, device and other access costs. Any future paid feature will display its price and conditions before a separate purchase action.
Google AdMob and its User Messaging Platform (UMP) for advertising privacy choices are bundled in this version. Advertising is limited to a banner in the journal; there are no forced full-screen ads or rewarded videos. Live ads were disabled in version 0.1.0. From version 0.1.1, ads are shown only to users who meet the conditions below. Even with ads off, users aged 18 or older who have accepted the terms may explicitly check Google settings, which contacts UMP for privacy choices.
We do not show ads or start advertising consent requests for users who declare that they are under 18. Users aged 18 or older must separately acknowledge the advertising notice and complete applicable privacy choices before ads can be enabled. You can play without enabling ads and turn them off in Settings. Accepting these terms is not permission for advertising tracking.
9. Changes, interruption and termination
We may change features or game values, or temporarily interrupt the Service, for reasonable reasons such as maintenance, outages, security, legal compliance or game balance. Except in urgent situations, we will give reasonable advance notice of materially adverse changes or termination and the planned timing.
Changes to these terms will identify their content and effective date, and we will seek renewed consent where legally required. Changes do not retroactively remove your rights without proper basis. You may stop using the Service and request deletion.
10. Liability
Where we are legally responsible for loss caused by breach of contract, tort or another legal basis, we remain responsible under applicable law.
Only where the Operator, its representatives or personnel acted with ordinary negligence, and only to the extent applicable law permits, recoverable damages are limited to actual, ordinary and direct loss, excluding loss arising from special circumstances and lost profits. This limitation does not apply to intentional misconduct or gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
The Service being free does not set compensation automatically to zero. Mandatory consumer protections remain intact. An invalid or unenforceable provision does not apply to that extent; the remaining terms apply only as permitted by law.
11. Applicable law and contact
These terms are based on Japanese law, without depriving users outside Japan of mandatory consumer protections where they live. Unresolved disputes may be brought before courts with jurisdiction under applicable law. These terms impose no mandatory arbitration or class-action waiver.
These are terms for the game service. Applicable platform terms, including Apple’s standard licensed application agreement for an App Store app, also govern the application license. The platform does not become the Operator of this Service under these terms.
